성령이 사울 왕에게서 떠나고 악한 영이 임했다. 악한 영이 사울 왕의 마음과 생각을 지배했다. 그 후부터 그는 죄 없는 다윗을 죽이려고 한다. 영은 두 종류가 있다. 그것은 성령과 악령이다. 본문 성경은 성령의 역사에 대해서 말한다. 과연 성령의 역사는 무엇인가? 성령은 우리 안에서 어떤 역사를 하는 가?
예수님은 사람으로 오셨다. 주님은 우리와 같은 육체를 가지고 사셨다. 하지만 주님은 모든 사람과 다르다. 주님은 하나님의 아들이시다. 주님은 그리스도 구주이시다. 주님은 영원 전부터 하나님 아버지와 함께 계셨다. 예수님은 신성을 갖고 계신다. 주님은 곧 성자 하나님이시다. 예수님은 하나님 아버지의 보냄을 받아서 세상에 오셨다. 세상에 오신 예수님은 구주 사역을 완성했다. 주님은 십자가와 부활을 통해서 죄와 사망의 권세를 이기셨다. 그래서 주님은 우리를 죄와 사망에서 건져 주셨다.
하나님의 아들 구주 예수님은 아직 세상에 계신다. 예수님은 성부와 함께 하늘에 계시면서 아버지의 뜻을 이루지 않았다. 예수님은 육체를 가지고 이 세상에 오셔서 아버지의 뜻을 이루셨다. 예수님은 아버지의 뜻을 이루기 위해서 아직은 제자들과 함께 계신다. 주님은 3년 동안 제자들과 함께 했다. 구주 예수님께서 구원 받을 사람들과 함께 계신다. 예수님은 제자들과 함께 계시면서 많은 가르침을 주셨다. 예수님은 하나님 아버지의 말씀을 제자들에게 전해 주셨다. 예수님의 제자들은 주님으로부터 직접 가르침을 받았다. 하지만 예수님은 잠시후에 제자들을 떠나신다. 주님은 자신이 떠난 후에 제자들을 고아처럼 두지 않는다. 예수님은 제자들을 가르치고 인도할 분을 보낸다. 그것은 곧 보혜사다(25).
보혜사는 무엇인가? 보혜사는 성령을 가리킨다. 예수님은 성령을 보혜사라고 말한다. 보혜사는 성령의 역사와 관련이 있다. 보혜사는 위로자, 상담자, 돕는 자 그리고 변호해 주는 분이라는 의미가 있다. 보혜사 성령은 우리를 위로한다. 우리가 낙심하고, 좌절하고, 상심하고, 고뢰워 할 때에 우리를 위로하신다. 보헤사는 우리의 심령을 치유하고, 붙들어 주고, 강건하게 한다. 우리가 두려워 할 때에 보혜사 성령은 ‘두려워 하지 말라’고 위로한다. 보혜사는 우리가 삶의 문제로 힘들어 할 때에 상담해 주신다. 그래서 보혜사는 우리가 행할 길을 알게 해 주고 인도하신다. 우리가 택할 길을 가르쳐 주시고 삶의 방향을 주의 길로 인도한다. 보혜사는 우리를 도와 주신다. 보혜사는 우리가 도움이 필요할 때에 도우신다. 보혜사 성령은 우리의 심령과 생각 가운데 임하셔서 도와 주신다. 우리가 연약할 때에 강하게 해 주신다. 우리가 쓰러질 때에 일으켜 세운다. 우리가 문제를 만날 때에 해결 할 수 있도록 도우신다. 우리에게 구원이 필요할 때에 도와 주신다. 보혜사 성령은 우리를 위해서 변호해 주신다. 우리가 무슨 말을 할지를 모를 때에 보혜사는 적절한 말을 주신다.
예수님은 보혜사 성령에 대해서 말한다. 성령은 하나님의 영이다. 하나님의 속에 있는 영이 성령이다. 성령은 하나님 아버지께서 보내신다. 하나님 아버지는 예수님의 이름으로 성령을 보내신다(26). 예수님은 보혜사 성령의 역사에 대해서 말한다. 성령은 어떤 역사를 하는가? 예수님은 주를 믿는 자와 관련한 성령의 역사를 묘사한다. 우리는 성령이 내 안에서 하시는 역사를 명확하게 알아야 한다.
성령은 예수님에 관한 모든 것을 가르쳐 준다. 성령은 세상에 속한 모든 것을 가르쳐 주는 것이 아니다. 성령은 예수님의 모든 말씀, 가르침, 교훈, 계명을 알게 해 준다. 우리는 스스로 주님의 교훈을 다 알 수 없다. 선지자와 사도들을 통해서 성령으로 기록된 성경은 성령이 가르쳐 준다. 예수님이 성령으로 가르쳐 주신 말씀은 역시 성령으로 이해할 수 있다. 그래서 우리는 주의 말씀을 배울 때에 성령의 도움을 구해야 한다. 우리는 인간적인 지혜나 지식으로 주님의 말씀을 알수 없다. 우리 안에 계신 성령이 주님의 말씀의 의미를 바르게 깨우쳐 준다. 그래서 우리는 성령으로 성경을 배운다. 또한 성령은 예수님이 행하신 기적, 표적, 능력, 십자가, 부활을 가르쳐 준다. 성령은 주님과 성경에 관한 모든 것을 가르쳐 준다.
성령은 예수님의 모든 말씀을 생각나게 한다(26). 예수님의 말씀이 생각나는 것은 성령의 역사다. 보복하는 마음이 생길 때에 ‘원수를 사랑하라’는 말씀이 생각나는 것은 성령이다. 고난 중에 있는 형제를 보고, 서로 사랑하라는 말씀을 생각하는 것은 성령이다. 감정이 상하고 기분이 나쁠 때에 범사에 감사하라는 말씀을 생각하는 것은 성령이다. 성령은 주님의 모든 말씀, 진리의 말씀을 생각하게 한다. 우리는 주의 말씀이 생각날 때에는 성령이 역사하고 있다는 것을 알아야 한다. 성령은 내 안에서 주님의 모든 것을 가르쳐 주시고, 주님의 모든 말씀을 생각나게 한다. 우리는 성령이 주의 말씀을 생각나게 할 때에 순종하자. 예수님은 마귀가 시험할 때에 하나님 말씀을 생각했다. 그래서 예수님은 마귀를 물리쳤다. 예수님은 하나님 말씀대로 사셨다. 그것은 곧 성령으로 사신 것이다. 성령의 역사는 주의 말씀의 역사다. 우리가 진리의 말씀으로 살면 성령으로 살게 된다. 주님의 말씀의 삶은 곧 성령의 삶이다.
The Work of the Holy Spirit (John 14:25-26)
The Holy Spirit left King Saul and the evil spirit came on him. The evil spirit dominated King Saul’s heart and mind. From then on, he tried to kill innocent David. There are two kinds of spirit. They are the Holy Spirit and the evil spirit. Today’s passage is about the work of the Holy Spirit. What is the work of the Holy Spirit? What work does the Holy Spirit do within us?
Jesus came as a human. He lived in the flesh just like us. However, Jesus is different from people. He is the Son of God. Jesus is Christ the Lord. The Lord was with God the Father from eternity. Jesus has divine nature. He is God the Son. Jesus was sent by the Father and came to the world. And he who came to the world completed the ministry of the Savior. Jesus overcame the power of sin and death through the cross and resurrection. And he delivered us from sin and death.
God’s Son Jesus the Savior was still in the world. He did not fulfill the will of God by being in heaven with the Father. Jesus came to the world in the flesh and fulfilled the Father’s will. In order to fulfill the Father’s will, he was still with the disciples. Jesus was with his disciples for three years. Jesus our Savior is with those who will be saved. Jesus taught many things while he was with his disciples. He told them the word of the Father. Jesus’ disciples were taught directly from him. But Jesus was leaving his disciples in a little while. After he leaves, he does not abandon his disciples like orphans. Jesus sends the one who will teach and guide the disciples. It is the Advocate (v.25).
What is the Advocate? The Advocate refers to the Holy Spirit. Jesus called the Holy Spirit, the Advocate. The Advocate is related to the work of the Holy Spirit. The Advocate has the meaning of comforter, counselor, helper, and defender. The Advocate comforts us. When we are downcast, discouraged, heartbroken, and in pain, the Advocate comforts us. The Advocate heals our souls, upholds us, and strengthens us. When we are afraid, the Advocate tells us “Don’t be afraid.” When we are troubled because of our problems, the Advocate counsels us. And the Advocate enables us to know the way we should go and guides us. It teaches us the way we should choose and directs our lives in the path of the Lord. The Advocate helps us. When we need help, it helps us. The Advocate works in our souls and thoughts and helps us. When we are weak, it makes us strong. When we collapse, it lifts us up. When we encounter problems, it enables us to solve them. When we need salvation, the Advocate helps us. The Advocate defends us on our behalf. When we don’t know what to say, the Advocate gives us suitable words.
Jesus talks about the Advocate. The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God. The spirit that is in God is the Holy Spirit. The Father sends the Holy Spirit. The Father sends the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus (v.26). Jesus talks about the work of the Holy Spirit the Advocate. What kind of work does the Advocate do? Jesus describes the works of the Holy Spirit in relation to the believers of the Lord. We should know the works of the Holy Spirit within us clearly.
The Holy Spirit teaches us all things related to Jesus. The Holy Spirit does not teach us the things that are of the world. It makes known to us all the word of Jesus, his teaching, lessons, and commands. We cannot know all the teachings of the Lord on our own. The Holy Spirit teaches us the Scriptures written by the prophets and apostles through the Spirit. The Word that the Holy Spirit taught us can be understood by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we should seek the help of the Holy Spirit when we learn the Word of God. We cannot know the word of the Lord through human wisdom or knowledge. The Holy Spirit who is in us helps us learn the correct meaning of the word of the Lord. We learn the Bible through the Holy Spirit. Moreover, the Holy Spirit teaches us the miracles, signs, power, cross, and resurrection of the Lord. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things related to the Bible.
The Holy Spirit will remind us of Jesus’ words (v.26). If we remember Jesus’ word, it is the work of the Holy Spirit. When we want to take revenge but then remember the Word, “Love your enemies,” it is the work of the Holy Spirit. When we remember the Word to love each other when we see brothers and sisters in trouble, it is the work of the Holy Spirit. When we feel hurt or angry, but remember the word to be thankful in all circumstances, it is the Holy Spirit working in you. The Holy Spirit reminds us of all the Lord’s words, the word of truth. When we remember the word of the Lord, we should realize that the Holy Spirit is working in us. The Holy Spirit teaches us all things about the Lord and reminds us of his words. When the Holy Spirit enables us to remember the word of the Lord, let us obey. When the devil tested Jesus, Jesus remembered God’s word and repelled the devil. Jesus lived according to the word of God. That is, he lived according to the Holy Spirit. The work of the Holy Spirit is the work of the word of the Lord. When we live according to the word of truth, we will live by the Holy Spirit. the word. The life of the word of the Lord is the life of the Holy Spirit.
