standards and evidence through which we can distinguish between real and fake. There are people in this world who are fake but act like they are real. For instance, someone introduced himself to a woman as a doctor who graduated from a prestigious university. And they dated each other and got married. However, what he said was all fake. The wife who found out filed the divorce petition and they eventually got divorced. Today\u2019s Scripture talks about the redemption offering of the Corinthian church for the believers in need in the church of Jerusalem. This showed evidence of their authenticity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Verse 11 says the believers in the Corinthian church \u201cwill be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion.\u201d <em>In every way<\/em> refers to being rich in faith. The believer who is full of faith has a generous heart. Moreover, it refers to the fullness of love. The believer who is full of love is able to love their brothers and sisters. It refers to the abundance of grace, compassion, goodness, and mercy. Believers who are full of grace, compassion, and mercy show their faith through action. It also refers to wealth of possessions. The Corinthian church was wealthy. So they generously made redemption offerings. When we give help to a church or believer, we ought to do so generously. We must give them support with the fullness of faith, grace, love, and goodness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are wealthy churches and churches in need. Likewise, there are wealthy believers and believers who are in need in a church. In the church of Jerusalem were believers in need. The Corinthian church which was wealthy made offerings for the believers in need at Paul\u2019s recommendation. The church of Jerusalem who received such favor gave many thanks to God. We thank God when we receive help from someone when we\u2019re in need. Loving our neighbors gives them a heart of gratefulness to God. It leads the brother or sister in need to come to know God and become his witness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Giving help to brothers, sisters, and churches in need is serving the Lord. One of the gifts of God is giving generously (Romans 12:8). Helping a brother with wealth is serving according to their gift. The believers of the Corinthian church served according to the gift that God gave them. We ought to serve the brothers and sisters in need with the gift and grace the Lord gave us. If we do not give support to churches and believers in need, we are neglecting the serving. The support given by the Corinthian church filled the needs of the believers in need. We ought to fill the needs of the brothers and sisters in need with the wealth God gave us. The believers in the Corinthian church were enriched in every way and gave thanks to God. Believers who are greatly thankful also give support generously. Where there is thanksgiving, there is generous support. When we are thankful about the grace we received from God, then we are able to support fellow believers in need with a generous heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The genuineness of the Corinthian believers\u2019 faith had been proven. They loved in action the believers in need. They obeyed the new commandment of the Lord (John 13:34-35). They did not love just with words. They made redemption offerings for the fellow believers in need. Thus they proved that their faith is not fake but genuine before God. We should also prove that our faith is genuine. We ought to show it in action (1 John 3:18). We must obey the Lord\u2019s command. We must show the love we received from the Lord. Thereby, we should love our brothers and sisters in obedience to the Lord, as he loved us. We should give aid and support to fellow believers in need and thereby prove that we love the Lord and our brothers and sisters through action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Giving support and serving our brothers and sisters in need is an act of glorifying God (v.13; Philippians 4:20). It is a pleasing sacrifice to God and pleases the Lord (Philippians 4:18). It is a way to be filled by God the Father abundantly (Philippians 4:19). It brings blessings to our lives (Acts 20:35). We should help the church and believers in need in order to glorify God, be filled abundantly, receive blessings, offer to God a pleasing sacrifice, and please the Lord. We must give aid generously and compassionately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The believers in the church of Jerusalem who received support from the Corinthian church prayed for them. When we receive help from someone, we pray for them. It is an expression of gratitude for the grace received. A believer received help when they were in financial hardship. And they are not able to forget but are always praying for the person who gave them help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Giving help to the brothers and sisters in need is done through God\u2019s grace. God enables us to make offerings according to the great grace that he gave us. When we are full of grace, we make offerings without reluctance. But when we lack grace, we are reluctant even when we make offerings. We must be full of grace. And so we must obey the Lord\u2019s command, love the believers deeply, and generously support those in need. Then the believers who receive our help will love us. The believers in the church of Jerusalem loved and honored the believers of the Corinthian church who supplied their needs with God\u2019s surpassing grace. We love and honor the Lord who gives us grace and love abundantly. To be honored by others, we should act in love. People love and honor those who care for and support them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We must support the brothers and sisters as well as churches in need generously, with the surpassing grace and love that God gives. We must obey the Lord\u2019s command and thereby prove the authenticity of our faith through action and please and glorify God.
