11:24-26)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the days of Noah, people were corrupt and wicked (Genesis 6:5). So God regretted that he had made humans (Genesis 6:7). However, one man, Noah, was different. He was righteous, blameless, and walked with God. He became the father of all humanity. People scattered throughout the world through Noah and his sons. The Bible talks about the importance of one person. A believer, albeit one person, is very important in the Lord, because they can transform the whole world. Today\u2019s passage talks about one man, Barnabas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Barnabas is of the tribe of Levi, a native of Cyprus. He is an apostle and teacher in the early church. He went on the first mission trip with Paul. His original name is Joseph, and his name means the son of encouragement. Today\u2019s passage describes him as a <em>good man<\/em>. Good here means that one\u2019s heart, conscience, character, personality, speech, and actions are good. As a good man, Barnabas revealed the Christian character. The goodness of Barnabas was achieved through the Holy Spirit. All people are sinners. There is nothing good in humans. However, when people believe in Jesus Christ and are saved, they become good. All sins become cleansed through the blood of the cross of Jesus. At the same time, they become born again through the Holy Spirit, which is the good Spirit of God. Thus, their spiritual nature becomes good. Moreover, their heart, conscience, character, and actions become good. As a good man or woman, they live by the word of God, who is good. Barnabas was a man whose spirit, heart, character, and actions were good. Likewise, when we believe in the Lord Jesus and are born again through the Holy Spirit, we become good. Our heart, conscience, and actions will all become good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Goodness is a character of God and our Lord Jesus. A good person takes after God the Father and his Son Jesus. A good person lives by the word of God and seeks the good of others. Barnabas sold his possessions for the poor. When we do good, we seek the benefit of others. Goodness is a fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). Barnabas is a man of the Spirit and lived a life of light. When we do good to others, it serves as proof that we are the people of the Spirit and light. Doing good is the obligation of Christians (Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:14). When one does good, they receive compliments. When we do good as Christians, we will be praised. And the goodness of Christians brings revival to the church. The way to the revival of the church is to do good just like Barnabas. If our church increases with good believers, then it will naturally be revived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now Barnabas was full of the Holy Spirit. Being full of the Holy Spirit means being full of the word of God. Meditating on and acting according to the word of God are the work of the Spirit. Barnabas was a man of the Word. When we think about the Word deeply and put it into practice, the church will be revived. Being full of the Spirit is being full of life, love, righteousness, faithfulness, joy, peace, goodness, kindness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). A person who is full of the Holy Spirit displays the fruits of the Spirit. Being full of the Spirit is also the same as being full of Jesus. They are captivated by the Lord. They love, trust, and obey the Lord Jesus and live for him. Being full of the Spirit is being full of the power of Christ. Peter was full of the Spirit, and he preached the gospel powerfully. He performed many miracles and powers. Moreover, those who are full of the Spirit serve the Lord with the zeal like that of fire. They zealously worship, pray, give praise, serve, love, and evangelize. Thus, the church will revive when there is a person who is full of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, Barnabas was full of faith. Those who are full of faith are firm and unswerving. They live by the word of God. For strong faith comes from the Word. The one who is full of the Spirit overcomes the world (1 John 5:4). To overcome all temptations, persecutions, and hardships, we must be full of faith. Faith brings an abundance of righteousness, salvation, joy, grace, peace, and life. Huge faith overcomes fear, insecurity, and anxieties (Psalm 56:3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today\u2019s passage says that Barnabas, who was full of goodness, faith, and the Holy Spirit, brought about revival in the church. When each of us is full of goodness, faith, and the Holy Spirit, we will bring about revival in the church. Barnabas brought Paul, who was in Tarsus, to the church in Antioch (25-26). He co-ministered with Paul. Paul\u2019s ministry began when Barnabas brought him to the church of Antioch. And Paul preached the gospel in all Asia and Europe. When we co-minister just like Barnabas, we can bring about revival in the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now in church, there is the revival of the spirit, quality, and quantity. The spiritual revival brings revival to our spirit, making us internally strong and grow in faith. The quantitative revival brings about an increase in the number of believers. In the early church were both the quantitative and qualitative revivals. Same applies to our church. When each of us is revived spiritually, it will bring about quantitative revival. And the people who are saved will increase daily. Let us become good people, full of the Holy Spirit and faith just like Barnabas.
