teenager committed a murder and went to court. He showed no remorse for his crime. Rather, he was mocking the victim and considered his crime trivial. The judge gave him a life sentence. Only then, the teenager started weeping. To do evil is far from love. Love does not delight in wrongdoing, iniquity and injustice. Today\u2019s passage describes a characteristic of love. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone seeks joy. Whether it be good or bad, they do the thing that makes them joyful. Some people enjoy theft. Some do not hate wrongdoing. Others enjoy hiking. Still others enjoy gambling and drugs. Many people find joy in money. Unbelievers do not find joy in living by faith. They enjoy hanging out with drinkers. They hate living an obedient and holy life. The Bible says that \u201cto turn away from evil is an abomination to fools\u201d (Proverbs 13:19).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus always did what pleases God (John 8:29). This was the life of obedience. Jesus never tried to please himself. Jesus always made God the Father and his neighbors joyful. As believers, our lives must be like that of Jesus. We must live to obey and please the Lord who died and was raised to life for us. The Lord accompanies us in such a life. Twice, David spared the life of King Saul who tried to kill him. He loved his enemy. David obeyed God\u2019s Word. He rejoiced in the Lord and his Word. This is the true man of God, a man of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We must rejoice in the Lord of truth. Instead of finding joy in the things we desire, we must rejoice in the Lord of the cross and the resurrection. Jesus has to become the joy of our mind. Thus, we must love, think about, meditate on, and obey Jesus. Jesus has to be our biggest joy over everything else in this world. The Bible says, \u201cDelight yourself also in the LORD and He shall give you the desires of your heart\u201d (Psalm 37:4). Our wishes will be given to us only when we rejoice in the Lord first. As a compensation for finding joy in the Lord, he gives us the desires of our heart. We must always live a life pleasing to the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:9). We must seek the Lord\u2019s joy, not ours because the Lord did the same for us. To give us joy, the Lord went through the pain of death on the cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We must rejoice in the Word of God, the truth. The Bible says, \u201cYour statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.\u201d (Psalm 119:24). \u201cI will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word.\u201d (Psalm 119:16). \u201cI delight in your commands because I love them.\u201d (Psalm 119:47). True people of God, godly people of faith, rejoiced in the Word of God. They considered the Word of God their joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do you rejoice in? Think about your own life of faith. Do you find more joy in something else other than the Word of God? We must keep the Word of God deep in our hearts, and love, cherish, and rejoice in it. There was a gwonsanim who said, \u201cI love the Word of God so much that I feel full even if I don\u2019t eat.\u201d Likewise, we must have the Word of God at the center of our mind and life. The Word must lead our mind and life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We must rejoice with the truth. We must not rejoice in money, reputation, fame, and power. We must rejoice in the life of the Word of God and the life of obedience. We must remember that Jesus rejoiced in living by the Word of God. Likewise, we must rejoice in the Word of God. We must rejoice in obeying the Word of God. We must rejoice in loving our neighbors like our Lord did. We must rejoice in a life of thankfulness. We must rejoice in the life of humility and holiness. That is where the true love, faith, blessings and prosperity dwells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Love does not delight in evil. Love rejoices with the truth and lives by the truth. We must remember that a life that is far from the truth is not love (2 John 1:6). When we obey God\u2019s Word, we live in love. The life of the Lord was one that accompanied the truth. We must become like the Lord and live a life that cherishes the truth and obeys it. We must rejoice in the life of following the truth.
