class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jesus the Sent One<\/strong> (John 7:25-29)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Old Testament, there was Prophet Isaiah. God said to Isaiah, \u201cWhom shall I send? And who will go for us?\u201d (Isaiah 6:8). Then Isaiah said, \u201cHere am I. Send me!\u201d (Isaiah 6:8). Isaiah was sent by God. Same goes for the disciples of Jesus. They were sent by Jesus. Today\u2019s passage shows us how Jesus was sent.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some people who lived in Jerusalem at the time said about Jesus, \u201cIsn\u2019t this the man they are trying to kill?\u201d (25). Many people at the time knew that the Jews were trying to kill him. The Pharisees and scribes were devising a scheme to kill Jesus. However, they lied and denied it. Now Jesus taught in places where there was a large crowd. And people were talking to each other about how Jesus\u2019 opponents were not saying anything, that they were not refuting Jesus\u2019 teachings. So they said, \u201cHave the authorities really concluded that he is the Messiah?\u201d (26). However, the Jews continued to refute and confront Jesus. They did not recognize Jesus as Christ. They did not accept him as Christ. It was because they did not believe in Jesus. Even today, people do not know Jesus as Christ the Savior, as they do not believe in him. However, we know that Jesus is Christ the Son of God. For we believe in him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People were saying they know where Jesus came from (27). They were saying that when Christ comes, no one would know where he came from (27). They knew what region Jesus was from, but they kept saying when Christ comes, they would not know where he comes from. In this world, Jesus came from Nazareth. However, we are able to know where Jesus comes from as Christ through faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus taught at the temple. He preached the gospel of the kingdom of God in the temple of Jerusalem where a large crowd gathered. Jesus said, \u201cYes, you know me, and you know where I am from. They believed and confessed that Jesus is Christ the Son of God. Those who believed in him knew that Jesus was the Messiah that the Old Testament prophesied about. They knew that the Messiah whom God promised to send through the prophets is Jesus. Of course we also know through faith that Jesus is Christ the Son of God. We are able to know that Jesus is Christ the Savior who through the power of the cross and resurrection saved us from sin and death. However, those who do not believe do not know. Without faith, no one can know Jesus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus said that people know where he comes from. Where did Jesus come from? When we first meet someone, we do not know about them. We can only know where they come from if they tell us. When someone tells us they came from Korea or China, for example, then we know. Then, where did Jesus come from? Jesus told us where he came from. Jesus told us that he did not come on his own but was sent by the true one. Jesus did not voluntarily come to the world. Jesus did not come to the world to accomplish his own will or plans. Jesus came because God, the true one, sent him. So Jesus accomplished the will of the one who sent him. The prophet who is sent by God is the true prophet. The prophet who works according to their own will and desires is a false prophet. The minister who has been sent is the true minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus said that the Jews did not know God. It was because they did not believe. Jesus said that he knows God. The reason was that he came from God the Father. Jesus came to the world because he was sent by God. Jesus would not have come if God did not send him. Likewise, if Jesus does not send the disciples and us to the world, we cannot go out and be witnesses. We go and tell the world about the gospel because the Lord sent us. We must remember that Jesus, the Son of God, was sent by God the Father. We also were sent by Jesus.
