Jesus<\/strong> (John 12:44-45)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Correct knowledge benefits us. But incorrect knowledge may do us harm. If someone gives us wrong directions to a place, then we cannot get to the destination. But if they give correct directions, then we can get to the destination. Incorrect medical knowledge is not helpful to our health. Similarly, correct knowledge about Jesus is very important. Incorrect knowledge about faith gives us no benefit. Today\u2019s passage gives us correct teaching about believing in Jesus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus cries out in verse 44. We need to note something important. That is, Jesus. Jesus spoke the word of God to the Jews. He spread the gospel of the kingdom of heaven. We must pay attention to Jesus\u2019 word and teaching. Who is Jesus? We must correctly know who he is. Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus is the Messiah, that is, the Christ. Jesus is the Word, the truth, the life, the way, the light of the world, salvation, Savior, righteousness, wisdom, resurrection, Lord of lords and King of kings. He is the head of all power and authority. Therefore, we must listen to and learn his words. His word is not the word of a human. It is not the word of a president, teacher, or a commanding officer. The word of Jesus is the word of God, the word of might, the word of salvation, the word of life, and the word of eternal truth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus says, \u201cWhoever believes in me does not believe in me only, but in the one who sent me\u201d (v.44). Jesus explains the meaning of believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and Christ the Savior. Jesus came to the world because he was sent by God. He did not come on his own. God, who sent Jesus, wants us to believe that Jesus is the Savior and the Son of God. We become the children of God by believing in Jesus as the Savior (John 1:12; 1 John 5:1). We who have become children of God believe, worship, and serve God. We cannot go to God without believing in Jesus (John 14:6). We can come to God only through faith in Jesus the Son.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus says that believing in him is believing not only in him but in the Father who sent him. That is, believing in God the Son is believing in God the Father. Without believing in Jesus, we cannot believe in God. If anyone says, \u201cI believe just in God but not Jesus,\u201d it is incorrect. In the same way, saying \u201cI believe in Jesus only but not God\u201d is incorrect. Believing in Jesus is believing in God. To believe in God, we must believe in Jesus the Son. There is no way to believe in God apart from Jesus. Without believing in Jesus, there is no way to become God\u2019s child. To have God as our Father, we must believe in Jesus. To live with the Father in the kingdom of heaven, we must believe in Jesus. To believe in God, we must believe in Jesus the Son.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Jews say they believe in God. However, they did not believe in Jesus the Son, whom God sent. They, after all, did not believe in God. Someone sent a person to deliver a message to a certain person. However, he did not believe the message of the person who sent the messenger. He did not believe in the one who sent the messenger. God the Father sent Jesus. So Jesus preached the word of the Father who sent him. We must remember that listening to Jesus is listening to God who sent him. If we want to listen to the word of God, we must listen to the word of Jesus. We are able to listen to the word of God through Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus says, \u201cThe one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me\u201d (v.45). To look at God, we must look at Jesus. The Jews were able to see God by looking at Jesus the Son whom God sent. However, they did not believe in Jesus. At last, they did not see God. The way to see God is through believing in Jesus. We can see God through a holy and pure heart (Matthew 5:8). We will be saved by faith and see God in heaven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus made himself equal with God. He said that he and God are one: \u201cI and the Father are one\u201d (John 10:30). Jesus says, \u201cAnyone who has seen me has seen the Father\u201d (John 14:9). He also says, \u201cI have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one\u201d (John 17:22) and \u201cI am in the Father, and the Father is in me\u201d (John 14:10).
