Some students envied him and others were jealous. However, the reason that the student received much love from the teacher was clear. He listened well to the teacher. There is a way to receive love from the Lord. Today\u2019s passage tells us this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus says that the Father has loved him (v.9). The Father loved his Son. And there is a reason for that, a general and physiological reason. Parents love their children. And there are no parents who do not love their children. This is a natural thing God has ordained. Parents love the children they gave birth to and raised like their own lives. Parents think of their children\u2019s matters as their own. When children are sad, so are the parents. When children rejoice, so do the parents. God the Father also loved his Son Jesus. Jesus received God\u2019s love. And there was a reason that the Father loved Jesus. This teaches us an important lesson. What is the reason God loved Jesus? It is Jesus\u2019 obedience. Parents love obedient children more than the disobedient ones. Jesus\u2019 life is perfect obedience to the Father. Jesus obeyed the Father to death (Philippians 2:8). The Father loved Jesus who obeyed all his words. Jesus\u2019 life&nbsp; was a life loved by God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There was another reason Jesus received the Father\u2019s love. He pleased the Father. The Father was pleased with his Son Jesus. There are children that break their parents\u2019 hearts and trouble them. On the contrary, there are children that please their parents. The parents rejoice over them. Why is that? Those who please their parents live according to the parents\u2019 wishes. Jesus lived according to the Father\u2019s will. And thus Jesus pleased the Father (John 8:29). Jesus lived a life that is pleasing to the Father. In all things, Jesus pleased the Father. Jesus always enacted the Father\u2019s will. And the Father was pleased with him.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus loved us (v.9). The evidence is clear. Jesus is the holy Son of God. Jesus came to the earth for us sinners. The Lord died on the cross to wash our sins away. Jesus is greater and higher than the heavens. But he denied himself and came as a human to save us. Jesus who is most exalted came to the lowest place. Jesus was mocked and ridiculed by people. He was flogged for us. His hands and feet were nailed. Jesus went through the pain of death for us. This is the evidence of Jesus\u2019 love for us. We received great and amazing love from Jesus. And we ought to dwell in his love. What is the way to receive love from our Lord Jesus? It is following Jesus\u2019 example. When we live like Jesus, we will receive his love. We must love the Lord just as he loved us. Then he will love us. Jesus presented the way for us to receive his love (v.10).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus kept the Father\u2019s commands. As the Son, Jesus obeyed the word of the Father. Jesus\u2019 obedience was the secret to receiving the Father\u2019s love. God was enraged when the Israelites disobeyed his word. Disobedience brings about God\u2019s wrath and punishment. Disobedience troubles and distresses God. The way to love God is obedience. God loved Jesus who obeyed the commands. God loved his obedient Son. Therefore, he was always with Jesus, listened to his prayers, and was with him. God who loved his Son seated him on his right hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what is the way to receive Jesus\u2019 love? It is to live as Jesus did. It is to follow Jesus\u2019 example and keep his commands. Without obeying his commands, we cannot receive the Lord\u2019s love. For disobedience enrages the Lord and troubles his heart. We must keep the commands Jesus gave us. Then he will love us. Our Lord will always be with us, keep us, and listen to our prayers. Jesus will love us and enable us to enact his will. He will guide us in his path and enable us to live a life that glorifies him. Our Lord gives all spiritual blessings to those who love him. Let us obey the Lord\u2019s commands and remain in his love, just as Jesus obeyed the Father\u2019s commands and remained in his love.
